About Jimin Kim
From user insights to working products.
I turn user insights into interfaces I can help build.
I'm Jimin, a Global Business and Digital Arts student at the University of Waterloo, expecting to graduate in August 2028. I work across product design, UX/UI, and front-end development, connecting research and prototypes with the details of implementation.
As Build-One’s first marketing hire, I helped bring five company websites live in four months. I designed responsive flows and a shared component library in Figma, built three sites directly alongside the engineering team, refreshed brand assets, and produced four YouTube Shorts. I also collaborated on a construction-drawing automation tool and was named as an inventor on its pending patent application.
My app projects show different parts of that process: translating team research into Roomi’s prototype and resolving six usability issues; designing and building PlanEat’s SwiftUI front end; and leading design for a four-person team that shipped LifeBites in 48 hours.
At the UW Korean Students Association, I led a visual rebrand through feedback with the president and vice-president and designed event and social graphics. New-member sign-ups grew 25% year over year during that period.
I'm looking for a design internship in Canada where I can contribute across research, interface design, and implementation while continuing to learn with a team.
