I design the screen, then help build it.

I'm Jimin, a Global Business and Digital Arts student at the University of Waterloo, based in Waterloo, Ontario, graduating in August 2028. I do product design and I can build what I design: research and Figma on one side, React and SwiftUI on the other.

At Build-One, part of the Daedong FE group in Korea, I was the first marketing hire. In four months I helped take five company websites live, designing two in Figma and building three in the production codebase with the CEO and engineering director. I am also named as an inventor on a pending patent for a construction-drawing automation tool.

Course and side projects fill in the rest: Roomi (visual direction, six usability fixes), PlanEat (about 20 screens and the SwiftUI front end), LifeBites (six screens and a Next.js front end in 48 hours), and a Neilson dairy rebrand (one logo, one carton, five videos). Earlier, I led a rebrand for the UW Korean Students Association, and new-member sign-ups grew 25% year over year.

Outside of class I draw, listen to music, and cook. I like practical, minimal design, and I would rather take something off a screen than explain it.

I'm looking for a UX or product design co-op in Canada for Winter 2027, four or eight months, on a team where I can do the design and help build it.
